As such because the big golf stores and pro shops do not practice professional full specs custom clubfitting and clubmaking, you won’t see our designs in a typical retail golf store, and you will have to find a certified custom clubmaker to undergo a fitting analysis, after which the clubmaker custom builds the clubs to fit the golfer. To find a certified custom clubmaker, you can first go to the FIND A CLUBFITTER locator search tool that is found right in the middle of our home page at wishongolf.com.
Thank you for fast and good service.' Norway 'My father has a reputation for buying all sorts of gimmick clubs. So I was not surprised when he showed up for our round with a new club: the M80 Offset.
It gave me 5 mph more swing speed than the new Callaway FT-IZ. The higher swing speed alone gives you more distance.
COR is the Coefficient of Resitution, which is a parameter that dictates the energy loss in a collision of two objects. COR is expressed as a number between 0 and 1.0. 0 meaning in a collision of two objects all energy is LOST, while 1.0 means in a collision, all energy is transferred and retained. In golf it is the parameter that determines how fast the ball speed will be for any given clubhead speed on a shot. The higher the COR, the higher the ball speed in relation to the clubhead speed and the more distance for the shot. In 1998, the USGA enacted a rule which placed the COR Limit for drivers at 0.830. Meaning when the clubhead hits the ball, the ball leaves with 83% of the energy in the collision between the clubhead and ball.
This page describes the spring effect in drivers or COR (coefficient of restitution) and makes it easy to understand how it is calculated and what it means for golfers. Tom, I seem to recall a very simplified test for COR that involved dropping a golf ball at either waist or chest height to impact your driver which was secured at floor level. Then from the rebound distance you could get a guesstimate as to the core of your existing driver or when deciding in the golf shop between manufacturers. Could this be a very simplified measurement?
'I'm 74 years old and I can't believe the distance I gained on my drives. I was hitting 150 - 175 yards. With the extra shaft length (M80 LightSpeed) I hit several drives 225 -250 yards straight down the middle of the fairway. My son and I played today and he could not beliieve it. Great driver.'
So, basically they can only make their drivers so hot. If you want to really increase your distance this process is your TRUE answer. I had one of mine just returned from WHD. I had my COR taken from an 830 on a Taylor Made Draw driver to an 880. All I can tell you is that I picked up 20 yards plus hitting range balls on a cold day in December. I can’t wait to get out on the course with my Titleist balls and really see how much I have picked up in distance. As for the service, all my questions were answered promptly.
I am 62 and have lost 40 yards to an appalling 205 yards. With the M80 I am now hitting my drives to 240 yards. This has enabled me to go into most greens with an iron instead of a wood. My handicap has decreased 7 strokes!! Thank you for manufacturing a great driver.' 'It may sound unbelievable but I have gained as much as 40 yards.

I will share with you that I have tried other high COR drivers before. Most recently, another driver which has a.900 COR but was completely un-hittable for me as it has no Draw Bias and the walls are so thin I shanked a ball off the heel and dented it! Your driver by contrast appears to be very sturdy. Once again, well done and I may buy the offset driver for those days that I can't make a good swing to save my life. 'I am 65 years old and have had more surgeries and medical problems than I care to talk about.
When the cue ball hits the target ball, the cue ball stops dead and the target ball takes off at almost the same, exact speed that the cue ball had when it made contact with the target ball. This indicates that virtually all of the energy of the cue ball was transferred to the target ball to propel it onward.' Regulation The and regulate COR in golf clubs, with the current limit being 0.830.
Words are cheap. You can tell what a customer thinks when they are willing to put their money where their mouth is. I am so impressed with the driver that I'll probably order a second. I would also be curious to try the fairway wood.
A couple of days later the same experience. Took it out of my bag, stuck it in my playroom closet never to see the light of day again. Or so I thought. Last week I went to the range and took it with me - don't know why but I did. What happened after about 15-20 drives, the feel of the club suddenly came into being.
So it apparently is viable for doing face conformity rulings for driver heads. BTW, when the USGA/R&A have to rule on spring face conformity for heads other than a driver, they do revert to using the original COR air cannon test.
Being in the fairway for the second shot on every hole is a real treat. Distance was about 20 yards greater than usual. Thanks for such a great club.
'I was looking for a driver that could get me 10 more yards. On your recommendation I bought your driver with ultra light 48 gram shaft and I did not end up with 10 yards - I got 30! I just wanted you to know that you make an excellent product. I even hit a 250 yard drive for the first time in years. In comparison it makes my Titleist driver look like a piece of $#%@.' 'All I can say is what a Driver.
COR is a part of the head design and has nothing to do with length whatsoever. What makes you think that though is the fact you know that as you go shorter you lose a little clubhead speed which brings a loss in ball speed. The face still has the same COR as always but when you hit a high COR face with a slower speed, you do compress the face a little less so the COR that is in the face cannot be fully maximized in the shot. However, at the speed drop from conventional 5 iron length of 38 to single length 5 iron length of say 36.5 to 37 as in my Sterling design, that is a minimal change in the amount of flexing of the face.
The technology that delivers shorter shots from the short grass for better scoring opportunities. The visual alignment system that aims the club down the target line for a confident stroke. It is this unique combination of design and performance that is the signature of the all new light weight M80 SuperSpeed Kompressor driver. Superior Control Hitting long drives is one thing. Hitting them in the fairway is quite another. The M80 SuperSpeed Kompresso r combines a variable center of gravity together with a high moment of inertia to stabilize and square the club head through impact for straighter, on line drives and the ability to draw the ball more easily. Internal design improvements encourage more consistent center of the face contact maintaining ball speed for reliable distance performance while helping to eliminate wildly off-line drives. As an added benefit enhanced trajectory provides a more ideal ball flight for substantial carry distance.
The club face will then be polished to match its original finish. All of the work is performed on the outside of the club. Each driver’s face thickness will be measured at 5 different points before being placed on the CNC machine. The finished thickness will be measured at those same 5 points to ensure the desired specs have been obtained. Grooves During the shaving process the grooves on the driver will be removed as you can see in the the picture below. Since grooves are only there for aesthetic reasons some players will opt to just leave the club groove less after shaving.
'Used the driver (Special edition M80 LightSpeed SST) for the first time today and I cannot believe the distance and straight flight. I am cynical when I read such things but I hit over fairway bunkers that I never have in 13 years at my club. 20 to 25 yards extra but swinging easy is the key.' England 'I am 67 years old and had my second hip replacement December 2014. For the first time in 25 years, no pain! Have been doing physical therapy, conditioning, and stretching for 15 months with an idea of beginning to play golf 'for real' (after basically just hitting balls for recreation due to hips). Joined a country club last September and began playing regularly.
First of all you would have to be able to duplicate the speed of the ball as it contacts the center of the face within 0.01 mph. Then you would need to have sophisticated electronic equipment to both measure the speed of the ball as it drops on the face AND the speed of the ball as it rebounds off the face. These would have to be accurate within 0.01mph. And you would have to have a way to position the clubhead WITHOUT A SHAFT INSTALLED so that the face of the head is at 0* loft to the angle of the ball as it is dropping on the face. This would be the impossible one because you cannot secure or clamp the head to do this test – it would somehow have to just be sitting in space with the face up. In the USGA’s actual COR test the head is simply set on top of a small cylinder and positioned so the face is 0* to the angle of the ball being shot by an air cannon into the face. The head is loose upon the mounting cylinder so when the ball hits the face the head goes flying freely backward.
I contacted WHD and they asked me to send back the driver as they said that this happens occasionally where for some reason the person’s swing doesn’t create enough smash factor to compress the clubface. They reshaved it for free and am very happy to say that the second shaving made a world of difference. I am getting the yards I was looking for.
I've gone from 220 - 230 yard drives to 260! This is some club. Longer and straighter than I've ever hit a driver before. High launch and incredible carry distance. I feel like a tour player on the tee. ' D.M ' I picked up 30 plus yards ' T.D. 'I've been playing golf over 50 years and I've never had a driver like this.

NOT BAD AT ALL (SEE PICS) COR 0.900++++ WOOOOOOOOW 10.5 DEGRESS OF LOFT SHAFT: ALDILA NV 55G IN REGULAR FLEX I PUT AN ALDILA NV 55-R PINK SHAFT IN THE HEAD. I TIPPED 1' FROM THE TIP TO MAKE THE SHAFT STRONGER THAN A R-FLEX. THE SHAFT HAS BEEN SPINED FOR EXTRA YARDAGE AND STRAIGHTER DRIVES.
When I got more swings under my belt I ended 50 balls with avg speeds up 5 mph and my best being 23 yards longer due to lower spin and increase in ball speed. Really happy with my results and look forward to getting the matching 3 wood. Give both these companies a try as you will not be disappointed. Had stock drivers for past 20 years, when my time came to buy a new driver, I decided it was time to try an enhanced driver. I did research, called around and decided to go with WHD and having them make this new driver unique! Old are the days of hitting with everyone else, and struggling with accuracy just to get a little more yardage. Now I can stay within my swing and body and GET that distance no matter what.
I live around the corner from a very nice golf course so I immediatly went to the driving range to see how much money I wasted this time. Twenty balls later I new I had a winner. I took the rest of the bucket back to the club house and purchased a nine hole round. At the 4th tee I drove 6 balls off the tee right down the fairway 190 to 230 yds.
Hi Cor Golf Drivers
Very pleased.' 'Bought the new M80 Lightspeed SST driver with 48' shaft. Gained 35-40 yards over my other drivers.' 'Due to my age I've become a short hitter only driving the ball around 160 yards. I've purchased numerous $400 drivers only to be disappointed by their performance. After reading about your drivers I decided to give one a try in hopes of getting a lttle more distance.
Or you can do it as TM is doing with the slot that allows the face area to flex inward to achieve the high COR. Both do the same thing which is to make the face flex inward more to achieve the higher COR, but in different types of construction. TM will of course say their slot technology is the best because they have to, in order to sway opinion in their direction for more sales. They won’t say one word about all of the other high COR iron models that have come before because to do that would somewhat minimalize what they are doing now with their slot iron design. But there is no question if you take an iron like our 870Ti and make the lofts the same per iron head number as the TM slot irons, both irons will hit the ball the same distance.
Product Description This driver will be shaved to increase it’s performance and will outperform a stock G30 by 20-30 yards. To read more about our process. An emphasis on speed with no sacrifice in performance sets the new G30 standard and G30 SF Tec (Straight Flight Technology) drivers apart. To generate faster clubhead speed and ball velocity for longer drives, turbulators were engineered onto the crown of the 460cc heads. Proven in wind-tunnel testing to reduce aerodynamic drag and create efficient airflow, the added speed from Turbulator Technology provides measurable distance gains for all skill levels. At address, they create a captured appearance with the ball and assist with alignment and inspiration. The G30 drivers’ CG position is the lowest and farthest back of any PING model, ensuring optimal launch conditions and an even higher MOI in both axes for extreme forgiveness and maximum energy transfer.
I’m 72 and the extra distance is wonderful. My drives used to average 205 but these were all around 230-235. I’ll be ordering the fairway woods and a driver for my wife.” Dr.

Within one day I went from 265 yards to 285 yards and the same if not tighter dispersion on the course. We can now take our distance and love for the game to a whole new level having this done. My playing partners do not need to know whats going on with my swing to get this big jump in distance, but when they find out I am sure they will do the same as I did, tons of fun and big bombs coming. Thank you WHD Team •. There is a golf forum I belong to and they mentioned a company shaving down faces of drivers to increase ball speeds and get more distance.

' I've never hit a driver straighter. Your claim that the club is virtually 'slice proof' is 100% accurate. As I adjusted to the new driver, my drives continued to stay straight and the distance just kept getting longer and longer and longer. By the end of the second round, I was convinced that I've never had a driver that compares. I've been playing golf for 5 years. I've spent a small fortune looking for every yard I can find. It's not unlike me to invest multi-thousands buying the latest and greatest.
