If you find purchasing the individual pieces is too expensive then I would consider selling the whole rig. The thing that we have does not really look like the pic in pp. This is a WindGlider multisport, basically a toy so not many surf shops carry the parts. I've called all of our locals and some not so local. I am actually not in the market for a wetsuit as again, this is just a fun toy to kick around in our canal, river and bay. Plus one more thing to make cool Aunt dd's house that much more cool!!!
Each of the conversion options has been extensively tested and approved for normal recreational use. OK Folks, Up for grabs is this Mistral Windglider, it's basically an inflatable windsurfer that can be sailed standing sitting or kneeling and paddled like a kayak, it can also be towed behind a powerboat like a tube, I dont know what year it was made but its only been used a couple times by my sister. It comes with the original owners manual and an instructional video (vhs) I'd prefer to sell it for local pickup as shipping cost for this is prohibative cost wise (UPS ground estimate was $137 OUCH) Thanks for looking and. Neal Please note that pic # 1 is a substitute photo to give you an idea of how it is used the pic (pic#2) on the manual is what it actually looks like, color is grey and white.
I would really like to get the rest of the kit so that we can use if for more than a floaty. I'm thinking that I would at least need the mastbase, boom and I think there may be some kind of strap that would help me pick up the sail/mast. We'd also like the sailing outfit as well. I've found some online sites with some replacement parts but not all. Would anyone by any chance know of a vendor who may carry parts or might you have any yourself? I have a call into NorthSports, Mistral as well as some emails to registered AquaGlide dealers but any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

Instead I found a Mistral Windglider at a thrift store. It appears in good condition and I think I have all the parts but I'm not a sailor. Back in the 80's as a kid I played around on a minifish and sunfish but that was ages ago. I have no idea where to begin to teach my son how to use it. Does anyone out there have the owners manual or instructional video for sale. Thanks for any help or advice.

My sister in law purchased the original windglider as is shown in the coolmtnbiker048 post. After a few years of use it developed several leaks and I eventually threw the hull away but I still have the whole rig including the mast base. The original mast base was of poor quality so I built a new one using a standard windsurfer universal joint and an aluminum tube. I also added a downhaul cleat which is much better than the original strap. The only thing I don't know is if the attachment to the board is the same on the old and new windgliders but Northsports or Mistral should be able to answer this question. There are some nice kids booms on the market that should work well with your set up.

It is easy to learn.I thought my mom (65 years old) how to sail it in 30 minutes or so in light winds (tack, jibe and such). One can also learn it on his own. You may prefer to start learning it as a sailboat.
The mix of maximum quality, perfection and the link to Mistral’s origin give all of the products the distinct Mistral character.
You may not need a Windglider-specific boom.a conventional boom with a mast adapter might work. If you can get to a windsurfing shop with the parts you have, they may be able to piece the rest of it together for you. Certainly they can sell you a wetsuit. Please also note that the shipping cost is an estimate from UPS for ground freight, the package is oversized and the weight is 60 lbs. Also note that a new one of these costs over $500! So this is a great price even considering the shipping cost. US BUYERS IN THE LOWER 48 ONLY, PayPal ONLY, UPS ONLY, NO RETUNS. It will be easier to learn than windsurf. As a kayak it is rather slow. As a sailboat it works Ok. I sailed it quite a bit in agean sea, occasionally on courses more than 10 miles.
