It's becoming really very frustrating. Any help please. I used sun download manager once upon a time. I think it is not available now and it's there then it wouldn't of any help if my connection isn't fast enough (once disconnected it reset the peer) but sadly, i have no idea what rate of speed can qualify a connection a decent or fast connection. Now trying with wget and here is the output. Please see the following.

I tried several times but each time it failed and the error messages like 'File not found' or 'Read error'. My connection is stable (shown 32kbps and 18 hrs completion time) and I used jdownloader and flashgot from firefox but failed each time. Does oracle really want us to download it?
32kb is not stable in my 'western' opinion. Imho this was a stable connection around 1990-1995 or so. I believe the reason for the 'file not found' message is the shitty connection. You pretty much run in a timeout.

Shit, have 56k modem. Gonna order the thing. – by bla ho-hum (12:25pm est wed feb 02 2005) i'm a big os geek, like most readers here probably are. I've installed countless linux distributions every flavor of windows and beos my osx box is just kick ass. But i find it very hard to get excited about solaris maybe it's just because of their ever-annoying scott mcnealy, or maybe it's due to all the fud they've spread over the years, but i really doubt that this will ever be downloaded by myself, let alone installed. I'm sure that this is going to sound like any other mac user raving uncontrollably, but since i've gotten my (dual 2ghz) osx box, i find myself spending less and less time checking out the latest linux developments, let alone the latest windows updates (even though i still have to work on windows a lot, it's via remote desktop on osx).

I don't usually upgrade the kernel much if I'm not having any issues. If it's not broke, don't fix it. I deal with Linux, Solaris and AIX 5+ on a daily basis. If I need a quick server, Linux is the way to go.
