So i used the.bat file to extract and then instead used the v4 fix USRDIR patches (instead of the FULL FIX USRDIR (the one with extract.bat, dont know if that made the difference as they're supposed to be the exact same files) and put on external game worked. So now I'm going to copy the external working version I have over to internal to see if it works if it doesnt i suspect it's my internal hard drive as its a Western digital scorpio blue PVT which has some sort of advanced something or other that PS3 doesnt handle well (although all my other internal games have worked). There is a 'fix' by someone called mote and it works for the retail BCUS89233 if you are using 3.41 I have only played until partway through chapter 2 but all the other fix's caused problems. This one does not but, you must follow the directions in the readme and you will receive an error, then replace the patched 'pak23.psarc' and the patched 'text1.psarc' with the unpatched versions of those files.

Well just tested what i said above and works on internal, so apparently the UC3-355FiX.rar (the one with the extract.bat) is missing some patched USRDIR files or something. So DeanDMX what i did was get UC3-355FiX.rar and Uncharted.3.PROPER.FIX.KMEAW355.READNFO.v4-Nobody, use extract.bat to extract.psarcs(from UC3-355FiX.rar) then use Uncharted.3.PROPER.FIX.KMEAW355.READNFO.v4-Nobody USRDIR patch files, overwrite files in folder/subfolder in Uncharted game folder (dont use UC3-355FiX.rar USRDIR patch files). Thats what I did anyway and now it works both on internal and external or try mote's patch (skd mentioned above) if you still have access to the original.psarc files. This fixed the crash when entering the journal and hangups in level 9 and 11. To apply the fix, simply drop your BCES01175 folder (or whatever your Uncharted 3 folder is named) onto the uc3_fix_windows.bat script, which should open a console window to show progress. Linux/Mac OS X/other unix users, please use uc3_fix_unix.command script instead and give the path to BCES01175 folder as the first argument.

I originally found this on psx-scene and tried it and it worked. Shadow2305 was the original person who found out this fix. I just posted the video on demonstrating it. I focused on just actor33.psarc, camera.txt, and the eboot.bin. This must be a clean rip of Uncharted 3 with no files and psarcs touched except actor33.psarc. Just extract it and get the folder called actor33 and replace the original u2-journal-lod0.pak file with fixed version in actor33. Don't repsarc it otherwise you'll have loading problems.
